Dr. Steven M. Tillem received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University in 1988. Upon graduation he was cited for outstanding academic achievement and was elected a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. In 1992 he received his M.D. degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. There he was cited for outstanding clinical performance and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Following medical school Dr. Tillem completed six years of surgical and urological training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Tillem has been certified by the American Board of Urology and was elected a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the New York Academy of Medicine. He has been listed in the Castle Connolly guide “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area” on multiple occasions as well as in US News and World Report “Top Doctors.” Dr. Tillem serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Tillem treats men and women with all types of urologic conditions including urologic cancer, erectile dysfunction, testosterone deficiency and infertility, urinary tract infections, urolithiasis (kidney stones) and urinary control problems (incontinence). State of the art prostate procedures including Rezūm and UroLift as well as MRI/Ultrasound fusion prostate biopsies are performed in office with either local anesthesia or intravenous sedation. No scalpel vasectomy is performed in office as well. Dr. Tillem is available for consultation in his Astoria office as well as at Lake Success Urology and at Garden City Urology.
