Dr. Steven M. Tillem received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University in 1988. Upon graduation he was cited for outstanding academic achievement and was elected a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. In 1992 he received his M.D. degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. There he was cited for outstanding clinical performance and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Following medical school Dr. Tillem completed six years of surgical and urological training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Tillem has been certified by the American Board of Urology and was elected a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the New York Academy of Medicine. He has been listed in the Castle Connolly guide “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area” on multiple occasions as well as in US News and World Report “Top Doctors.” Dr. Tillem serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Tillem treats men and women with all types of urologic conditions including urologic cancer, urolithiasis (kidney stones), testosterone deficiency and infertility, Peyronie’s disease (bent penis), urinary tract infections and urinary control problems (incontinence). Dr. Tillem has extensive experience with the UroLift system for treatment of prostatic enlargement. UroLift, MRI/ultrasound fusion biopsies of the prostate and no-scalpel vasectomy can all be performed in-office with either local anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Dr. Tillem also evaluates and treats men with erectile dysfunction using medical and surgical therapy including penile injection therapy (trimix) and outpatient penile implant surgery.
